The Slovenian Stud Book Authority is delighted to announce that the winner of the 2022 WAHO Trophy is the mare Assad. She receives this award for her achievements in endurance. in 2021 she became National Champion of Slovenia and was awarded the Best Condition Award.
Her dam is Fatima who is by the first Slovenian WAHO Trophy winner – Golden Crown (GB).
We join the Slovenian Registry is wishing Assad all the best for her future international races.
Since 2008 breeder Marjan Zupančič has been on the search for the quality purebred Arabian mare and in 2010 he has found Nachta. Nachta arrived from Belgium to Slovenia in 2007 and Marjan did not hesitate to buy her in 2010 from fellow breeder Bojan Zagorc.
Since Marjan has previously reserved the breeding of Muranas Jassehr in 2008, Nachta was sent to Germany in May 2010 and in April 2011 Nachta delivered a magnificent colt on Marjan’s farm. Marjan and his wife Darja named him NAGELJ Z and put high hopes in the newborn colt. Nagelj Z developed into a great young stallion and was licensed in 2014 at the stallion licensing in Slovenia. His progeny has proudly carried the sire’s name into the show world – his colt JASMIN Z (Nagelj Z x Yamala Z) being the most successful:

Slovenia is pleased to announce the winner of their 2020 WAHO Trophy. When in 2014 Fatima S delivered a long legged colt by the ‘Straight Russian’ stallion Bukefal (Almonito/Moriachka), nobody dared to predict that the colt will one day be the fastest Arabian in Slovenia.
His dam Fatima S is by the pure Crabbet WAHO Trophy winner Golden Crown (Naxif/Luanda) and out 9 Farag II, the beautiful and elegant queen of Babolna.
The talented Fakir Ibn Bukefal won his first race (1400m) on 27.7.2019 in Imeno, Slovenia with several lengths advantage. In Zagreb, Croatia, on 19.10.2019 he dominated the international race (1800m).
Fakir’s owner will continue racing the talented stallion in 2020 in the international races. Fakir Ibn Bukefal is also a breeding stallion, that will surely contribute to the Slovenian breeding in the future.
Slovenia is proud to announce the winner of their 2019 WAHO Trophy. The stallion Gazal Z has just started his endurance career and is already showing big potential. He has successfully finished a 40km qualifier in Barban (Croatia) and a 60km qualifier in San Canzian (Italy). He is a big, strong powerful horse who loves to run.
The dam of Gazal Z, Geisha P, is owned and bred by one of Slovenia’s foremost breeders, Gregor Pintar. She is currently on lease to Arabian Stud Europe in The Netherlands, and while taking a break from her breeding duties she also participated successfully in endurance during 2017. The sire of Gazal Z, L.A. Maximus, was bred in Switzerland imported to Slovenia as a yearling in 2009. He has been a successful show horse and breeding stallion, and has since been exported to Iran.
Combining charisma, beauty and strength, Gazal Z is a worthy winner of Slovenia’s 2019 WAHO Trophy. In the 2019 season Gazal Z will have the chance to participate in the World Endurance Championships for Young Horses, and continue making Slovenia proud of their home-bred Arabian horses.

Slovenia is proud to announce that he winner of their 2018 WAHO Trophy is Princ Ibn Hawi. He is by Slovenia’s 2006 WAHO Trophy winner, Golden Crown (born 1978, died 2009), who was such an important and influential breeding stallion in Slovenia, owned by Jožef Zver.
Of predominantly all “old English” bloodlines, renowned for their athletic qualities, Princ Ibn Hawi started competing in the tough sport of endurance in 2015, and has already proven himself as a very good sport horse. He won the first endurance competition he attended, and since then has has finished all but one of the endurance rides he started and was always among the best. In 2017, as well as one ride in Slovenia, he also competed abroad, proving himself an excellent ambassador for Arabians bred in Slovenia, when he took part in 3 other rides. In Croatia he won the 3 CEN* 83 Km ride, he was 4th in a 60km ride in Austria, and 6th in a 58km ride in Italy.
As his endurance career is just beginning, it is hoped that he will continue to succeed as he gains more experience.

The Slovenian Stud Book Authority has decided to award the stallion LOTOS with their 2016 WAHO Trophy.
Although still quite young, Lotos has already proved himself to be an excellent breeding stallion, he has also achieved success at shows himself. In 2015 he participated in the International breeding show ‘Araber Sommerfestival’ in Stadl Paura in Austria. He won his class and was awarded the title of Silver Senior Champion. He also took the “Liberty Champion” title from all of the stallions. In the same show he had two offspring taking part. The filly Harfica (born 2014) was the winner in her class of yearling fillies, and took third place in the junior class. The filly Favorytka (born 2014) was third in the class of yearling fillies. Because of his very good breeding potential, Lotos is currently on lease to Austria.

The Slovenian SBA decided to grant the male horse ID EL SAAR with the 2015 WAHO Trophy.
Id El Saar is the best Arabian horse bred in Slovenia to successfully compete with his owner in both national and international events in endurance. Until 2004 he was the winner of many competitions and in the year 2001 he also won the national endurance championship. Up to last year he was also the breeding stallion with 12 registered offspring. Nowadays, in his retirement at the age of 21, he enjoys peaceful days with the other horses at the farm of his owner.

The eight year old grey mare El Zilal Masriyah was awarded Slovenia’s 2014 WAHO Trophy. She is an excellent mare of straight Egyptian bloodlines. In 2013 she participated in the International Egyptian Event at Travagliato, Italy. In the class for adult mares of pure Egyptian origin she took second place and went on to take the title of Silver Champion Mare. This was a really excellent result for a mare that is now flying the Slovenian flag as an ambassador for her country’s Arabian breeding programme in international competition, and this is why she was selected for the WAHO Trophy award.

Pasion P has been awarded Slovenia’s 2013 WAHO Trophy. This attractive gelding is the first Slovenian purebred Arabian horse which successfully competes in endurance. In the year 2011 he won the Slovenian National Championships with his young rider, she was just 16 years old at the time. This proves not only his athletic ability and soundness, but also shows that he has a really excellent calm temperament.
